Management Speak - Really ? Now I do work in management and from time to time someone reads a new book - old ideas new title - and with that generates new catch phrases for people to use, examples being - I dont have the bandwidth to take this on - Some tasking with be compromised if we integrate with this project - Lets detail this project workflow to understand the resource matrix integration What people should say .... - I do not have time to do this - Other projects may suffer if we take this project on - Who do we need on the project for it to be a success Now I am a little bit of a bastard now and then, more so with management speak than most things as in most cases it is just used as a way for someone to try and look better than they really are. A very funny but not that well known UK show from the 80s brought management speak to a new level (tongue in cheek of course) which I have been using sparingly over the last couple of months, unfortunately several of these phrases do seem to have caught on - Let me park in your mental multistory - Let's operate a zipped-lip scenario on this one - I dont think you're playing in the team togetherness department - We have a togetherness shortfall here At some point I will share they came from a UK comedy show used by a character who had no managements skills at all, until then it will be interesting to see how far into presentations/talks/project descriptions these go.
