If he didn't make you feel safe, you obviously made a good decision to move on...and I agree that his guilt trip was whiny and pathetic.

But as a very inexperienced, aspiring Dom, I would also like to point out that becoming a proficient and skilled Dom is no easy task—especially if you can't find partners with patience and acceptance for your learning curve. Maybe there are an abundance of "naturals" out there who were born perfect Dominants, but from the complaints I hear from many submissives, that is hardly the case, and good Doms are in short supply. If too many submissives stick firmly to a no-new-Dom rule, that will always be the case.
