Instead of frozen fruit, use fresh fruit, ice, and milk. I remember now.

Serious health advice: unplug the blender before going in with the butter knife. Serious smoothie advice: add vodka!

The ratio of frozen fruit to liquid is important. Try a cup of milk, or better yet, a half cup of milk with a cup of Greek Yogurt, fresh strawberries and frozen banana. You may need a little honey. You can use OJ too. It isimportant to decide what you want to consume and why. Fruit has a lot of sugar. If you want to lose weight, up the protein and reduce the carbs.

I only have a blender too (must start using it again !) Like Michael said use ice and fresh fruit. I use water for mine and throw in some veg, spinach or kale with some berries, apple and lime jiuce. I find apple and/or honey is a great way to sweeten any smoothie if it's needed. And avocado can give a lovely rich texture Life So Short, The Craft So Long To Learn

Good on you for taking small steps to being healthy. Some good advice above, especially using fresh with a regular blender. I have burned out one Nutribullet and am grinding away at my NutriNinja. While I totally advocate using them as they tear through just about anything and make it nice and smooth, I wouldn't recommend the expense until you know if you are going to keep at it.
