*Note about Numbers

The calculation of the number of accounts, members, listings, logins, and any other similar information appearing on this website is updated approximately every 24 hours. A "member" is a user account which has been logged in within approximately 2 years, has an available profile, and has an active email account. A member is considered "online" if they have logged in within approximately the last hour. The calculations made are approximations and should not be relied upon in making membership or payment decisions.

Member profiles, and the information contained therein, are provided solely by third-parties and we are not responsible for the accuracy of such information, the representations made therein and/or the intentions of those who become members or use the site. As further provided in by our Terms of Use, and pursuant to the Communications Decency Act of 1996 (47 U.S.C section 230, et seq.), we reserve the right to remove any account and/or any message sent by any account holder, allegedly containing deceptive, defamatory, illegal and/or commercial information or data ("deceptive account") as we become aware of it. Deceptive accounts (until their deletion) may be included in the aforementioned calculation. From time to time models who are not site members or expired member profiles are used in external advertising of our sites and thus you should not rely upon the availability of any particular person(s) as being a member of our site in making any membership or payment decisions.

For more information, please review our Terms of Use.

I remember now.

An intriguing enquiry for any paying member I would think.
Please message me directly to discuss further

Not sure I get the point, but what the hell, I'll take 100 shares.

ozie,

I agree with everything you have written. My own list of probable fakes are: recent profile, single photo, very good looking and sexy, short intro paragraph, often times the photo does not resemble the physical description given, and last no limits own me for life.

Nice post and candid one and I appreciate Your concern and efforts....This internet world is awesome...Sometimes making us all known to each other and happy and at some point we face fradulent dealings kicking our heart and feeling embarassed.

Self-respect is the corner-stone of virtues.

I see . thinking like a lawyer (or barrister engl,)

but to your actual question : I know for fact that people have more than
one profile . so right there you might loose ? 20% ?
and down the numbers go,,,
there is a whole lot of outside (as you call it) mini scams and then
there is a sub set of overly polished and produced pics and there I could see a good bit of what you suspect . shall we call it " fluff fill " ?
so hey , fun , no ? a little bit of everything

be good

Well my last comment got censored so I am guessing I struck a nerve.

Your comment has been denied due to the following reason: Banned Topics (hate/weapons/under age). Feel free to submit a new comment.

I never said I hated anything. Never discussed weapons. Never discussed under age. All I stated was that I believe that ALT sponsors the spammers that try and con the ligit users of this site that pay good money to use it and should be protected by this sites management.

Doesn't the term implants assume a single implanter, i.e. the management of the site? Doesn't the implanter also have to monetize the implanted profile to return a profit? The degree of interaction between members on Alt makes it easier to pick out fake profiles than it would be on a site without chat rooms or blogs. They don't interact except through monosyllabic emails or texts, mediums which are easily used by bots.

A profile may, however, be deceptive without being fake. It may be someone who is making an effort to conceal certain facts about themselves or to lie about one or more personal statistics. People with those profiles do interact.

Even if we could establish that an unusually large proportion of profiles on alt are fake, how would we establish that they are implants? I have been on sites where the number of fake profiles exceeds the real ones by a ratio of at least 8:1. They are recognizable as purchased implants, however, by repetitive phraseology or vocabularly, the clearly professional quality of posed photos, identical photo backdrops or the obvious outlines characteristic of photoshopping. There are also numerous duplicate profiles with identical photos purporting to be in different parts of the country or the globe, These are clearly implants operated by bots in the employ of the site who try to get legitimate members to buy "tokens" to communicate with the bots. I haven't see this kind of thing on alt., so I'm a bit sceptical that there is a significant number of "implanted" profiles on alt as compared to free-lance "fake" profiles, and I'm not sure, failing the kind of obvious indicators I have found elsewhere, how we could accumulate the kind of evidence necessary to make the free-lance vs. implanted distinction.
