Balancing Act

Although I'm in an M/s relationship, there is a constant balancing act between the power structure in our relationship, and the realities of having a family and business.

He doesn't, for instance, undermine me in front of the . They know the power structure, that he has the final word if there's a family discussion, but they also know that I'm next in the chain of command. It prevents them from playing us, and keeps things on an even keel.

He doesn't expect me to take care of all of the housework. We both work full time, so he does help. I do 80% of the day to day housework, but he kicks in with things and isn't above cooking a meal, or washing a sink load of dishes now and then.

We own a business together, with another business partner, and I have equal say there. That means there are times I actually do *shock horror* vote against him. This is because we have different skills and knowledge, and his decision may well be based on information that's not entirely correct. Or he hasn't thought through the exact consequences of his decision.

Guess what, he's human. And being dominant, being the Master, doesn't mean he knows everything.

There are small things we do, looks, words, small touches, that keep the power structure going throughout the day. A hand slipped into my hair tightening as he claims a kiss. A trace of his knife across the back of my neck when the aren't looking - which takes me a while to come down from. A scrape of nails across my ankle as he walks past. A quick swat as he walks past...

Would more be nice? Of course it would, but not whilst we have younglings in the house and reality has a way of slapping you when you least expect it.

    Quoting  :

I count myself as fortunate! Thank you!

But yeah, I'd like a little more now and then, just a few hours more with the flogger *chuckle*. Greedy wench, I know.
