Hmmm, me too. Makes you appreciate life even more, but also makes you realise you really don't know what is around the corner.

I try to live within the bounds of your thinking. I really do try, and usually I do fairly well. But sometimes I'm just a complete, judgemental asshole! And it is those times I wish I were better.

Good story, good topic. This could only come from one with a good heart.

Its in our nature to judge, can I eat it, will it eat me, can I mate with it, its evolution, so personally I think we have come a long way, I can walk down a street knowing the biggest threat to me, is accidentally walking into traffic, for the most part I think we're doing ok.

So true! We are all here living our lives and learning as we go along. We do what we feel is right and best for us even if it disagrees with your best.

People often apologise to me when they tell me that they are suffering from a cold etc. I tell them not to be silly. There's no point in comparing. In fact don't compare to me as I am trying to live as 'normally' as I can. Saying things like 'it's nothing compared to what you must be going through' just reinforces how sick I must be. What we should compare is our starting point. If you feel dreadful because you have fever and really runny nose it's because just a few days ago you weren't sick. So you remember how feeling healthy felt. You miss it. I miss it too but also if I compare how I am now compared to a few months ago I am already so much better and will hopefully continue to gradually improve until I am fully recovered.

And yes, perhaps I shouldn't be so unkind about dick pictures however much tired I am seeing them (although I've changed the setting that I should no longer see them).

Some years ago i had a customer, older lady and she was so cranky.
My reaction to her was very curt !
She started to leave then stopped and turned around.
She told me that she had just received some bad news from the hospital and that
i should have shown some patience.

I felt bloody awful and that encounter has never left me.
However i am not perfect and do catch myself slipping here and there so thanks for the reminder

You are so right......there are times we need to stop and take an inventory of our life. There will always someone who is much worse off than you.
