I am always cautious. I admit that up front and am more likely to just continue my donations to organizations and not people directly. Here they have done a number of news reports throughout the years I've lived here and have found some pretty unsavory people trying to scam, which of course makes it more difficult for honest people who are in need.

Of course, I would have to believe that if a person was out in that type of weather, it would be out of an actual need.

The 387-acre West Los Angeles VA campus was deeded to the United States in 1888 to serve as a home for disabled veterans. Today, Los Angeles has the nation’s largest population of homeless and veterans with disabilities. After a lawsuit they are finally going to create housing for veterans there. Unfortunatly one of the first projects, to convert an old unused building on the campus is being challenged by the residents of Westwood, OJ Simpsons old neighborhood,
