I speak for me...an expat living in OZ.
1. What do you American's think of him? I voted for him once because I had hoped he really would make much needed changes. Some would say he has, and some would say not.
2. Are you glad that he became your president? No
3. Or would rather have had JOHN MCCANIN? No
4. OR SARAHA PALIAN? No
5. OR HOW ABOUT DONALD TRUMP? As I must choose between HRC and Trump....I shall do as many will......and probably decide once I know who the VEEPS are....that will make a Yuge difference. Until then, it's who I detest more. Sadly...we no longer vote for someone, we vote against them.

I voted for Obama the first time around and have to say that he might go down as one of the worst presidents this country has ever seen. Hate to say it but he was still better than who he was running against, so as usually, the US was stuck between choosing the lesser of the two evils. I look at it this way but under his watch:

- the middle class became a minority for the first time in history

- the world is a lot less safe because of terrorism (granted, Bush had a huge role to play in it too but "The buck stops here" with the current president

- the number of gun related deaths and shootings went up under his watch. This from a president who made it one of his missions to reduce the number of gun related shootings/deaths

- rampant unemployment, the highest since 1977 and the oil embargo. Yes, unemployment in the US is higher now than it was in 2008/9 and the Great Recession

Need I continue?

1) I think he has done fine. I also like his temperament, his patience and his ability to stay above the fray.
2) yes
3) MacCain is infatuated with all things military and war related. If he were president it would be all about international issues and nothing about domestic issues
4 & 5) seriously? They are both jokes. It amazes me that the "god-squaders" would vote for either. Both are so far from Christian teaching...
