"Fifty Shades" Research

[ Yet another reason to load up on the popcorn and the laughtrack for next year's movie version of the silly book

Well, at least he's dedicated.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" star Jamie Dornan admitted he visited a sex dungeon in effort to research the role of kinky billionaire Christian Grey for the movie adaptation of E.L. James' best-selling S&M novels.

"I went there, they offered me a beer, and they did … whatever they were into," he explained during an interview with the February issue of Elle UK.

"I saw a dominant with one of his two submissives, I was like: 'Come on guys, I know I'm not paying for this but I am expecting a show.'"

"It was an interesting evening."

Dornan recalled to the mag how he handled going home to his wife and newborn baby after the raunchy experience.

"I had a long shower before touching either of them," the 32-year-old Irish-born actor added.

Shower? Shit I needed a shower after reading this crap! And I suspect many will need a shower after watching this crap

Makes ya wonder how convincing his movie role will be. Hate to think he needed to shower off after every bdsm scene...

I suppose it's fitting to cast a superficial, juvenile-minded star to match E.L. James' superficial, juvenile-minded story. Hoping for a colossal flop that dissuades the studio from making the sequels...though I doubt we'll be so lucky.

LOL tsarah. Don't hold back hon. Tell U/us how you REALLY feel

(but you're right - except why only let him hear the whip crack. Might as well make his shower have a REAL purpose)

I think you are right, lastguy. Look how many bought the book and how many really believe the book is a realistic portrayal. The movie is going to be true to the book.

An even scarier thought, Kitty, is the actor thinking that what he saw and what's in the book are one and the same.

Rather odd though. Notice in that interview, he never says what he saw or if he joined in.

I suspect one of two results, tsarah:

1) He would flee and would have to jump into the Hudson River to neutralize

2) He might have enjoyed that whip a wee bit too much and wouldn't have been home as early to shower
