Fifty Shades Of School

It's off to the red room of pain for this British schoolboy.

A mom is outraged after her ’s school sent the 11-year-old boy home from Sale High School after he dressed up as the kinky “Fifty Shades of Grey” character Christian Grey for the annual World Book Day celebration.

Liam Scholes donned an ill-fitting gray suit to the school outside Manchester, England, and carried zip ties and a sleeping mask as an ode to the freaky persona, portrayed on the silver screen by Jamie Dornan.

Little Liam never has read the book, but "Christian Grey is all over, plastered on every channel and I don't think there's anyone who would not know who he is," mom Nicola Scholes, 36, told the Daily News on Friday.

"We thought it was funny. He didn't want to go as a cartoon-type character like the others, he wanted an older, more mature costume," the mom said. "That's who everyone at school talks about anyway."

So while other dressed as Harry Potter characters, Darth Vader or Waldo, Liam made his mark by dressing as the notorious kinkmaster, who famously indulges in wicked fantasy bondage sex with reporter Anastasia Steele, played by actress Dakota Johnson.

"I like my boys to look smart so I bought him a new suit," Nicola Scholes said. "He heard the stories that (Grey) loves whips but I gave him the cables which barely go around one wrist."

The novels themselves were a massive hit before being made into a movie. Scholes herself admits she read the books when they were big, but has yet to see the film.

“I don’t think there is anyone in the country who doesn’t know about the book – it’s been plastered everywhere for the past couple of years. Liam’s argument was that it was the most talked about book character for the last couple of years,” Scholes told the News.

Scholes, a primary school teacher, said one teacher dressed as Dexter, the serial killing crime scene examiner played on cable TV by Michael C. Hall. But Scholes says it was her , who meant no harm and only wanted a laugh, who was singled out.

"The one dressed as Dexter brought in cling film and an ax, yet he didn't get told to lose his props, either," Scholes told the News.

The school excluded him from the annual event in an attempt to whip him into shape and wouldn’t allow him to have his picture taken, she claimed.

“They took his props and wanted him to be James Bond, who is a very promiscuous character who kills people," she told the News. "Which one's worse, Christian Grey or James Bond?"

The school chained itself to the decision, saying the disagreement “reflected the school’s high standards in terms of student behavior, welfare and safeguarding.

“The student was not excluded from taking part in any of the activities as has been wrongly reported,” Lynn Nicholls, the school’s headteacher, told The Guardian. “His costume was modified and he was then able to fully participate and enjoy the day with his peers.”

Liam got a "telling off" at school on Thursday and administrators called Scholes, but class Friday was back to normal, the proud mom said. News outlets from Brazil to Australia have been calling up to get the scoop, she said.

Scholes said she stands by her , who decided to take on a more mature costume than the cartoonish characters most classmates chose.

"I just didn't get it that (the school) didn't see it as a joke," she said. "We agreed to disagree."

LOL. When I start reading stories about 3rd grade teachers getting "Christian Grey" as replies on the Who I want To Be When I Grow Up assignment, then it will be time to worry.

(and odds are it with also be a blog topic LOL )
