I've been discovering the pleasures of North Wales in the last few years. Found some fab restaurants up there (though maybe not for the budget conscious explorer!)

The Dee Valley is beautiful; Llangollen is a lovely town, the tourist bustle will have died down by now. Stunning countryside.

Bets-w-coed? Beautiful with some great walks.

Malvern Hills are beautiful and not quite so far to travel. The Stretton Hills too. The Wye Valley? Forest of Dean?

So many places; so little time!

Well, if you don't make one, you're staying in town!

I like to run away as it were. to the The north part of Washington State, USA and Vancouver, BC, Canada area. My best friends live there and it is where I plan to retire.

But if you want to visit Wisconsin in the US, just let me know. I too cook!

Weirdly I've been having the same thoughts.

Not running away from your busy street, lol

Just getting in the car and driving off somewhere and having a pootle.

Trouble is I don't know where to go either and I can't get time off work.

But other than those two things, I'm all set!!!!!

I hear you sister!

I love London but I also love to get out. If you do end up going to rural areas remember to watch out for those ticks. They (and therefore Lyme) are out in force. You wouldn't want to be forced to take it mega easy... All it can take is one bite. I should know x

Jozz along long time ago in the Land of North Wales i used to walk and climb.......both in the sun and Snow....it has always been a magical place for me.......now i live in Queensland that has no Snow and doesn't get too cold really. It's another magical place yet for different reasons. It is very quiet compared to London that once again i knew well.................and again has its little places of magic too. North Wales has to be my guess for you as Queensland is a little too far away. So go and enjoy and i'll think of all the places that you might be and i'll send a universal wish of happiness to all the places i know and you might just walk into one of them.
