No matter where you go, there you are... I love The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai...

I totally enjoyed "Where the Buffalo Roam" ~ Bill Murray's take on Hunter S. Thompson. Not sure it reached cult status, but I enjoyed it. May have to see if I can find a copy

Rocky Horror Picture Show for sure. It was the start of something…

Also… and this is going to sound strange… the first Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie. I was obsessed with Roald Dahl as a kid and ended up reading the first ever erotically charged book I'd ever read "My Uncle Oswald" as a result. Memorable line: Having sex is like picking your nose, all very well to be doing it, not much fun to watch x

My own personal 1 man ( for the most part one) against a prison .. Shawshank Redemption

...anything Dirty Harry ~ Harry Callahan: I know what you're thinking. 'Did he fire six shots or only five'? Well to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, i kind of lost track myself. But being that this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well do ya, punk? Love it..

Vanishing Point was part of the 60s/70s iconoclastic loner, anti-hero, genre that appealed to the macho part of me.
That has always been my kind of ideal man. I suppose those are just meant for the world of fantasy, not reality.

Laughs..how true.
Being a bit of a loner myself..one wonders why they cannot find another loner..Yes, i know that sounds hypocritical. It just would be nice to find another to understands the need for solitariness and need to be together sometime. I guess, strangely, it could be someone I could adore. He might not actually like that.
Funny, how we chase these dreams in our minds, wondering if they can ever be realised in the material form.

Smiles..i must admit i am more than pleasantly surprised at the care and response you put into your messages on here. Not you personally, but it is not something i usually encounter..so kudos to you for that.

I am such a lightweight when it comes to libations, and frankly, i dislike lost of control, either i belong very flirty and giggly, or very sleepy and numb. I do not like either feeling at all. I have not done anything crazy.

I admire people who can hold their liquor, but not be consumed by it.

Sometimes the answers are worse than the questions, as it is that sometimes the solutions are worse than the problem. Hmm, the problem solver in me does not like that, but I guess that is way it is.

I LOVED travelling alone for a very long time, my work did not allow all that much, but when it did..i enjoyed myself immensely, but as of the last couple of years, i think of what joy their is in sharing something with another.

LOL..oh the UNABOMBER. Frankly, it was a bit up my alley, not for what he did, just something about his looks when he was younger and idealism was KINDA okay but he got all twisted.

Like anything, there is an unhealthy side too all personality aspects.

Think of the eternal do-gooder, always putting others needs ahead of themselves, very nurturing, but if that gets warped, it can be like this: laying on the guilt, manipulative, possessive...always about all they do for you, what an ingrate you and do nothing for me, or never leave me, i do everything for you.

So, something that is lovely, can turn into something very nasty and warped...so from being an intellectual, lone wolf to the twisted, UNABOMBER.

Well, as Kasey Kasem says, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.

The version that I saw of the Vanishing Point was a remake of the original..I never knew that. Mine had Viggo Mortensen. MMMMM.

Have a great day, and thank you for being on this website.

Not sure..some keep disinterested in keeping a convo going..they feel if they responded once that is enough..no more time to say anything. I am not even talking about tirades..just seems a bit impolite of some..that is all.

I tend to be the point often, but then i babble..as you can see. Haha.

MMMMMMMMMMM...History of Violence was one fine film, but then I am a David Cronenberg fan. I also like David Lynch.

I guess i remember very little of Maria Bello's butt, the hot sex scenes..those were delicious. There is something very sexy about William Hurt. Sighs..there I go again..something about blue eyed men that have a bit of stern look.

Yes, the acting is top shelf because the writing was fab and the actors, well that speaks for itself as you aptly named them.

Onto the Unabomber type. Did I tell you i had some "friends" in the undergroud militia. Back when I was a young girl of twenty to twenty five..my interests were undergroud..well, i mean music and club scenes, but some of the people I met at the non chain bookstores, were an interesting bunch. I discovered BDSM erotic photography then. Dark, beautiful, disturbing and I might say high art. Most of it was black and white.
I travelled to BC on year and got to know a motor cycle gang that was into kink (no, i did not participate). I walked into a shop, in my floral dress, big straw hat, and obviously did not fit in with the leather people, so i got some nasty looks, but once I got to talking to them, I fit in.

As I have always said, sometimes, you must be careful of the nice girls, you never know what lurks under that sweet smile. You are never suspected. Okay..enough of me being semi creepy.

I guess this post has me thinking of my past and how staid I have become.

Sorry to ramble.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert and my personal favorite, Young Frankenstein. I think I can quote that entire movie. It makes me happy every time I see it.

Mmmm...young Peter Weller...(imagine Homer's drooling sound here), but I partly love Buckaroo Bonzai because they use an CompuPro S-100 bus computer in it, which is the first type of microcomputer I ever used. Inserting a bad photo of it in this comment. For those of you who can see it, note that the box with the circuit boards is stacked up on a set of 8" floppy drives!

You mentioned Wallace Shawn. The first movie I ever saw him in, and one of my "cult" favorites is My Dinner With Andre.
