christmas specials..which to cherish and what to dump HI all, just curious as to why noone makes christmas specials anymore.... Seems like the last time companies made any they had direct tie ins to some sorta toy...so you ended up with titles like "it's a strawberry shortcake christmas". So I wondered what christmas specials to do find yourself watching year in and year out and which titles to you think should be shelved. Personally I'd keep: 1. it is a wonderful life 2.those 70s stop frame camera animation specials like santa clause is coming to town/kris kringle and the burger meister meister burger etc. 3. ralphie 4. chevy chase national lampoon christmas 5.planes trains and automobiles Gotta go: 1. any version of "a christmas carol"..even the muppet one..especially the jim carrey one 2. elf 3. rudolphs shiny new year/rudolph the red nosed reindeer ( can't stand that voice) 4. |

I'm a little drummer boy girl. It's my favorite. It always makes me cry. And i love A Christmas Story.

Oh yeah, A Christmas Story with Ralphie is always on my keep list. I watch the Grinch every year, but the cartoon version with Boris Karloff voicing the green dude. I don't care for the Jim Carrey version. No others come to mind right away and now that I think about it, I haven't noticed the early saturation of the airwaves with Christmas specials. That is so not a complaint. I will say that the National Lampoon Christmas was the only one of the franchise I remotely liked.
