today is heterosexual pride day

HI all,

I find this ironic... not the fact that people of one sexual orientation desire to hold a parade of their own or that they want a day of their own.

I find it ironic how these blogger types feel the need to rip into heterosexuals and treat them like they are filled with hatred and are all bigots...
The article actually said ( I kidd you not..." how we took down the heterosexual pride parade in 140 characters)...hmmm passive aggressive...ya think

They included the usual snarky comments like " every day is hetero day" and " heteros don't need a day/a parade because noone every abused them or made fun or them for their sexuality etc".

Why do these people even care? Can't a person celebrate their sexuality without fear of being persecuted? I mean isn't that what gay pride week is all about? isn't that what these bloggers are doing with their comments? I mean why rip into someone just because they want to celebrate who they are sexually.

and on that note why is it called "gay pride week"... I'm not gay..I'm bi...
Yet some how I am included in this week because of the LGBT ?
Funny how you never see pics of gay pride week of a bi man kissing a woman...
the media focused this year of a gay cop proposing to another male cop on the parade route.
It's like bi people are still invisible... the fore mentioned article included a pic of two women holding hand and wearing a rainbow jacket.

There never is a mention of a bi man marring a woman or a man..
It's a wedding or a "gay" wedding...yet we never hear the term a 'bi wedding.

it is just assumed he is straight or gay.. based on his partner.
I mean the media doesn't talk about bi weddings..or bakers refusing to make cakes for bi people.. it is always labeled a "gay wedding"...
well if I marry a dude that doesn't suddenly make me gay...and I certainly am not invisible.. I'm proudly bi. Yet the media would be quick to label me gay.

and it made me wonder where is my day/where is my people's parade...shouldn't there be a bi day?
I mean if you wanna talk about abuse and not being accepted as a sexuality.. you need look no further than the bi community....
Jump back into your time machines say 20 years ago and no one accepted bis..not the straight community and certain not the gay community...
You were considered in denial!
Hell the media doesn't even focus on bi people.. it's like we don't exist...

Why are bi people lumped in with lesbians/gays and transgendered...are we not distinct and separate? it's like we get lost in the shuffle and get swept under the rug.

So who cares that gay people parade...who cares if straight people parade...

I just wanna know when bi people will get their own recognition

Perhaps it is time for bi people to start their own organization and break clean of the LGBTQ?
