transgendered wrestling championship

I saw an article about a transgendered boy that won the texas girl's highschool wrestling championship.

First off my ignorant ass didn't know girls had their own division...I always assumed girls just wrestled on the boy's team ( but hey..good for them.. it's cool that texas encourages girls to come out for wrestling)

So this transgendered boy wanted to wrestle on the boy's team, but texas law states he must wrestle the gender that he was born with. ( try to stay up.. I know this is a bit confusing, but I'm trying to be respectful and use the pronoun that he identifies himself as.

The ironic part is the boy/his father/ fathers of the other girl wrestlers are all in favor of the boy wrestling other boys. They have no problem with him being transgendered. It really is state law that prevents him from doing so

Their big hassle though is the fact that the boy is undergoing testosterone treatments and the girl wrestlers/their fathers think this is an unfair advantage.

It's funny how people are so worrying that this having an unfair advantage.. but he wrestles in the 100 lbs soaking wet division...sorry to tell anyone but testosterone alone doesn't equate strength or muscle mass
.
Chances are this ( who biologically is female) stopped growing in the 8th grade? He probably is as physically developed as this person is gonna get.
Simply adding hormones to one's system doesn't turn him into superman.
Nor does it magically turn a female developed body into a man ( well he will have male characteristics...but it isn't like he is gonna shoot up 5 inches and put on 50+ lbs of muscle instantly.

The ironic thing about wrestling is you can have one that is totally jacked and one that is overweight...if they both weight basically the same then is this fair? Doesn't the muscle head have a strength advantage over the couch potato?

if both the boy and the girls weight the same then why should it matter that he is on testosterone

Couldn't the girls be ripped too/can't they strength train? No where in the article does it suggest that this boy suddenly is ripped/lifts weights etc
For all we know he still has the body type of an average 100 lbs girl....he just has more testosterone in his body

So couldn't the weight lifting girl have a strength advantage over this boy?

I only ask this because in pennsylvania where wrestling is very popular, normally the girls will wrestle a weaker/smaller framed boy.

So what's the big deal...noone claims the boy has an advantage over the girl..noone says girls shouldn't wrestle boys.

And honestly it is more about technique in wrestling than it is about strength.

I think we've come a long way people in acceptance of the transgendered community. I feel people in general are more accepting of a transgendered boy than a transgendered girl though..
Probably because we see girls involved in boy's activities ( like girls wanting to become boy scouts/girls being on boy's teams/girls competing against boys is the norm)..
Yet people seem to freak the fuck out when the tables are reversed.
Oh no can't let a transgendered girl into the girl scouts/can't let a transgendered girl on the girls' team.

It's sad though when girls complain that a transgendered girl wants to compete. They will bring up things like she has the body of a "boy" and this is an unfair advantage.
Some transgendered girl was allowed to race in this highschool meet and the parents were pissed off because this won states. They bitched that she had an unfair advantage and was "stealing" college scholarships away from the girls.
They actually suggested that she should be forced to compete against the boys because of her testosterone levels.

Which is just plain ignorant....to suggest a transgendered has some sort of advantage is just wrong.
So I guess we exclude all tall women from swimming or running then...why? don't they have any unfair advantage over the normal sized girls. Don't they have longer strides?
Guess we can exclude tall women from the girl's team too... they have an advantage over the other girls...shouldn't they have to play the taller boys?
Aren't they taking scholarships away from the averaged sized girl? Hell a 6 foot girl is gonna get a scholarship over the smaller more talented player every time.

Where is it written being born with a penis makes you this hulk..especially at the highschool level where most boys aren't fully grown.
I've known alot of small guys in highschool 5'7 130lbs on the wrestling team..
But then again I've known girls in highschool exactly that same height/weight.

Fuck in highschool I was 5'10 and a whole whopping 150lbs ( hardly a hulk.and certainly not muscle bound...hell if I ran track I'd probably would have clocked in at 140lbs. My additional muscle mass ( or lack of it..lol) would have been offset by my additional weight).
So yeah a girl in track would have whipped my butt in a race.

I think people need to chill and just let these be ...let the transgendered population use the restrooms/bathrooms and yes teams that they feel comfortable with.

it really is much ado about nothing....

Yet the irony is the girls are the ones that aren't being accepting of the transgendered community.

I say just deal with it...life isn't fair...your always gonna have to compete against someone taller/faster/bigger/smarter/someone more talented than you...Fuck knows someone like Michael Jorden ( even at 50 yr old could beat the average high school boy's player).. is his height/skill level fair?

why should it matter that she has a penis? If your a baller then just ball..
stop whining and play your game...if you need to step it up against this person .. then it is on you!!!! Find a way to get it done.

God knows you'd gloat if you actually beat this transgendered girl in that state's meet.
So why bitch when you lose?

How so? Why do we always assume being a boy means taller/ stronger / better than a girl. Why do we automatically assume he has an advantage

He is on testosterone

Yes but testosterone doesn't equate strength. I cannot have low t and still out bench a guy that has a higher level in his system. One doesn't equate the other. One doesn't make you weak and the other doesn't mean your bigger: stronger or faster. there are women that can out bench me

Disagree With You Guys On This One Even Though I'm A Tranny CD ... Obvious Physical Differances Including Agression And Killer Instict Testosterone- Except Someone Like ME With Very Low Levels. NO I'm Not For The Sexes Sharing Restrooms- Because It Threatens Women's Private Space. Not For Unfair Advantages Of A MAN On A Girl's Sports Teams Because Its Ridiculous. You Guys Say There Are Exceptions In Physical Strength Between Individuals BUT Its The Exceptions That Make The Rules- Or There Wouldn't Be Any Exceptions To The Rules. I'm Also Not For Picking On The Boy Scouts Forcing Them To Have Gay/TG/Female Scout Leaders. They Should Have More Traditional Male Role Models- Not Try To Encourage Young Boys To Grow Up To Be An Effeminate Limp Wristed Pansy Like ME .. Unless It Was Naturally Meant To Be!

Over here in Australia we have different issues when it comes to kids sporting teams but similar issue when it comes to size/weight. We have many people from Pacific Island backgrounds who are naturally often very tall and solid build so this brings about an issue for some parents every football season when there's children of same age group with hugely varying sizes in that age bracket. There has been talk of bringing in weight related teams as opposed to age but that also has issues based on emotional maturity levels.

As for the issue of boys and girls playing on same team, this is allowed until they reach under 13's (kids aged 11 & 12) as after this age most girls start to develop breasts and the controlling bodies worry that they will get sued if a girl is tackled and her breasts are touched. Personally, i don't see how it's different to boys genitals being touched during a tackle either but hey, i never played sport.

Wrestling is not a very popular sport over here so no idea if we have separate comps but I imagine we would. As for any transgendered people competing, that would hit the headlines here too I guess.

We do have a woman who has transitioned from a male who plays cricket at a fairly high level and they had to check rules surrounding that but think it turned out in her favour. None of the other players or the governing body had an issue with her playing on the women's teams, they were just covering their asses so to speak.
