I feel your pain Mary.. when my sprouts were in grades 4th -8th they had these state exams to take for English (English Language Arts) or ELA . It was the most anguished time of year for them.
the school basically taught for the test, for the grades the students got reflected on them as we as parents maintained was the case..

I was glad when they were done with them (all in college now, with tougher challenges) and I know you wil feel the same when your son is also done with them too..

parenting is a tough job, but we moms gotta do it
