generic update

July has arrived, and summer is officially starting for most of us. It certainly has for punkin and I. We are in Central Oregon right now, where I hear temperatures are reaching into the triple digits. I am happy to report we are in an air-conditioned home, and drive around in a vehicle equipped with air-conditioning, so we are not uncomfortable. Were we still at the Oregon Coast, we would be worried about having enough layers on, but as it stands, we’re wondering how to get away with wearing fewer, if possible. Lincoln City was warmer, and more pleasant, when we arrived a few months ago, but has since turned the kind of cold and windy that makes it impossible for us to enjoy ourselves. A simple walk on the beach was a miniature ordeal, and it never seemed to let up. I know things will change, just like I know the temperatures in Central Oregon will soon get so high they’ll make me wish for the cold winds of the Coast, but for now we are happy to be where we are. If it means staying inside during the day a bit more, and trying to sleep the hottest hours away, we have no problem doing that. Both of us are night people anyways, so staying up until 6am, going to sleep by 7am, and then waking up around 5pm is a good schedule for us. It’s the best way I know to escape the most miserable part of the day, air-conditioning or not.

A final decision has yet to be made, but I think punkin and I want to try and live here for a while. We will renew our search for a permanent home very soon, if that is the case. We’re doing our best to save up as much money as possible while we look, but when you factor in the cost of temporary lodging, gas for the car, and everything else associated with traveling you can guess how large our savings has grown. Add to this the monthly bills (phone for punkin and I, storage unit, food, etc.) we are responsible for, and it looks like we won’t be finding that permanent home soon anyways. We are technically homeless, and will remain so for a while longer, but it could be much worse.

Before we headed to Central Oregon, we managed to stay 5 straight days in the same house, and it improved our demeanor and outlook greatly. The task of heading out to look for a place to live wasn’t as daunting as it had been, and that’s definitely a step in the right direction. I dare say, we have the gall to feel a bit of excitement right now. We’ve managed another 4 straight days in the same place, and it feels good. The only negative is the same one that seems to plague us no matter where we go; a total lack of reliable internet. The fact that I was able to post this is no small miracle, but thanks to the magic my amazing works with her phone, it is possible. Too bad her fix won’t allow me to upload and release our sexy movies…
