Fludity

One of the great things about being part of the human race is that there is a constant ebb and flow of meaning, of learning, of knowing which culminates in a fantastical fluid evolution.

So many things are said to 'stay the same' yet, with a few moments of contemplation, these things are never the same as what they were thought to be - A juxtaposition, a dichotomy, a parallel state of ever changing microcosmic sameness which is perceived one moment and forgotten the next.

From gender to sexuality, from religion to belief, politics to economics, not to mention math, science and history - Foundations of all socio-cultural identity ingrained and institutionalised to such a degree that no one notices the growth made.

The re-appropriation of linguistic terminology regarding racial slurs, phobic slurs, religious dissonance and historical bias are the biggest in the past two centuries alone - Gone are the days of mandatory segregation according to archaic socio-cultural heritage, gone are the days of misinterpreted terminology or ignorant anachronisms.

Sadly, the days are not gone where pain, humiliation and degradation are the only responses to the alternative - Ignorance isn't bliss, yet, there is an acceptance of those willing to stand out from the crowd and be different despite the fact that these individuals are met with begruding acknowledgement and jealous sniping.

Forget what you knew.

Live what you know.
