I think a cattle prod would do the job, it's readily available, easy to get, and would be very effective at either, waking up a sleeping student, keeping the student from falling asleep in the future, or cause the student to take your advice and not come to class if they feel they're going to fall asleep. It's a win-win for everyone.

I rather like the "British accent" scenario. Although a bamboo rod would be more effective. It makes a marvelous whistling sound as it comes down. Come to think of it I wish a couple of my instructors had employed such devices!

If you wear something that hugs your body, I promise to stay awake.

Be careful, Svetya. You don't want to become the leading character in an erotic story about a teacher who becomes her students' pet. In fact I'm starting to visualize the plot unfolding now, with the devices you employ to keep the students in line backfiring on you.

I need to find another hobby.
