Tam

Yes, Happy Birthday to Diane

And ,yes, age is but a number! It is how we act and feel....

First order ob business.............Sing Happy Birthday to Diane. OK now that your ears are in pain, I will just type instead.

39 is not old, ask Jack Benny. In fact there are no old people on this earth.

How did I come to this conclusion? Well it came from the mouth of a wise and gregarious man in his 90's when I met him and worked for his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

This man's name was Hank Warden, not exactly a household name. But well known and well liked by the classic Hollywood acting community.. Hank was a regular stock company actor for John Ford. He mostly did work in Westerns. He often played people well beyond his actual age. He often played Indians and other ethic characters. Hank had small but often critical rolls in movies.

Hank is well know for playing the character Old Mose Harper in the John Wayne classic The Searchers. Old Mose always had tips for Ethan (Wayne's character in the movie). When he sees Ethan one of the things is a running theme about when Ethan is going to get Old Mose a rocking chair.

Well, Hank was offered roles in movies where in tribute to him, he was in a rocking chair. Paul Hogan in Almost an Angle has Hank in a Rocking Chair in the early hospital scenes in that movie.

Hand told me during a table discussion at a banquet where he was an award presenter along with Richard Farnsworth 9best known for the movie The Grey Fox) "there are no old people on this Earth, the old old people are a memory. There are folks who are more experienced, who also may not have all the physical or mental capabilities of someone much younger, but they are not old".

Rocking chairs are for relaxing and sitting with your knitting. Even active folks in Cleveland need scarves in the winter.

Your entire household is young and I think your all wonderful and will continue to be wonderful till you are all a fond memory.
