Arrival

She felt herself shaking even before she parked her car. “At the count of ten I am going inside” she said not confidently to herself. At the count of eight she opened the door and stepped out. It was time.

He was waiting for her at the door. He smiled and said hello in a warm southern voice that made her feel welcome. He had on jeans and a white button down. He looked clean and smart. She entered his home, set her things down, took one look around and collapsed. Her body suddenly convulsed with tears and stress. It was bound to happen. Suddenly she realized her search was over. All of the pain of the years, not many, but enough, came pouring out of her in a torrent of tears as she knew she had finally arrived. He held her. “Come pet and let me help” he said taking her hand. He walked her to the center of the room and he sat down on the sofa. He positioned himself on the so that his back was against one of the arms and he threw one of his strong legs up on the cushions. He spun her around and pulled her down. She fell backwards into his lap, her back settling into his chest. He wrapped his arms around her placing them just under her breasts, warm and strong. She continue to sob, but could hear very lightly in her ear that all is fine. He tells her that he will lightly stroke her while she cries. He tells her it is for her balance and that this is the beginning of her healing. It doesn’t seem to matter, she continues to cry. It has been a dark time for her. Living with someone that doesn’t live is a difficult life, especially for a loving, caring and giving person such as she has always been. More sobs. More stroking. Now she notices that he is touching her in a different fashion than she had ever been touched. He is stroking, touching her so lightly, he almost does not touch the skin, but she feels his touch and it is scintillating. She is not sobbing as strong now. This feels good to her. He lightly touches her wrist and her arm twitches like a jolt of electricity has just shot through it. She could feel the shiver all the way up her arm through her shoulder and ended up tickling the inside of her ear. Again, she sobbed less. “is this really how this works" she thinks. It is as if she had never been anywhere else in her life. Always protected and loved, the thing that she had actually been denied of for so long. As if this man could read her every thought he whispered into her ear. “your hard work is just beginning” …..

She realizes she has stopped crying. She felt him push on her back and she moved slightly so he could rise. He stood above her and looked into her eyes. His eyes had a quality of change. They were a soft green that reminded her of the sea. They were kind and intense and she could tell this man’s soul was on fire. She slid off the sofa and knelt on the floor. She didn’t mean to it just happened that way. She can only hold his gaze for a few seconds. So much strength and such a presence. She was humbled and blushed. She couldn’t look up so she continued to look down and got a warm feeling, she smiled and began to understand……
