Amen... I am a teacher and once worked in a school where each quarter they gave awards to students for grades, most improved behavior etc... Our principal made a directive where we were to give each student an award of some type, so no one was left out. He didn't want any one to have hurt feelings.... I was a rebel and refused to make up an award so I had something to give a student. I refused to give an award that was not earned. But that mentality is so rampant in the schools and in our culture in general. Teach to a test, so everyone can pass a test that has no meaning to learning, to some politician happy. Give everybody and "atta boy" even if they have done nothing. it's very disheartening and rather scary.
