Afraid to say anything, she sits there.
The last thing she wants now is painful words.
While on the other end she strips him bare,
And leaves his bones exposèd for the birds.

Why do emotions make of she a miser?
Is safety such a single-minded task?
Is urging one you love to become wiser
Such a burden to the lover that you ask?

I don't expect her to enjoy this verse,
Or the mental strength it took to make it.
I guess tenacity is e'er my curse;
Whenever love shines through, she tries to break it.

So what is left for us when she is missing?
Which end does she want me to be kissing?
