great blog!
I like how you know all your pitfalls, i recognise that soo much.
The justifications to just eat a way....

The thing is, most, all foodaddictions is because of all the sugar in it.
All the food, Industrial made food has an overload on sugar!!

Almost all people are addicted to sugar!

My addiction is chocolate, i am struggling on a daily basis.
It is always that little voice in your head, that try to convince you, you are worth it....
Só destructive!

i like your openness about your struggle.
Gó! girl!! you can beat that monster!

I'm kinda in the same boat...not that i wear a bra or panties..lol..

My problem is I also snack as a reward...I feel like I deserve it.

With me it is sorta different though.. it's like I'm stuck in this weight plateau...I can eat like a pig and am shocked that I'm somehow the same sorta weight.
huh?.
But then again I can run in the streets like an idiot/eat great ( cut out booze/fast foods etc, hell even skip meals and only loose like 2 lbs...( period.. I'm not talking like 2lbs a week or month)

and yes I wish I was just one of these people that bitch about being overweight and then look like a twig..lol

I think my problem really is soda pop. I drink like 2 liters a day...and not it isn't the calorie count that I am worried about ( I drink diet).
Diet soda contains aspertaine ( it's artificial sweetener) which originally was used as a pesticide. No it's not a poison.. it's deprives the body of oxygen.
It's sweetness attracted insects and then the chemical suffocates them.

Usually when one researches diet sodas and weight loss the articles will only mention shit like it spikes your sugars so you'll want to binge eat.
But I think there is more going on here than meets the eye. So I'm cutting way back.

Yes preparing a meal for one can be a bitch.... BUT at the same time you have complete control over what you eat. I mean it isn't like your making two or three separate meals or snack because the kids leave leftovers etc.

I think the first step is to eliminate eating all processed foods from your diet...stop eating frozen pizza for example. There are ALOT of better things one can eat and still feel full....like snacking on apples or eating salads.
Buy rotisserie chicken.. it's usually 5-7 bucks.. a meal for two days..tons of protein/no cook/easy clean up.
2. prepare your meals/plot out what your gonna eat through out the week and shop only for those items..can't snack if you don't have snack foods just laying around. Keep small chocolates around as "rewards".. there is a reason ALL diets allow you to have say a brownie.. it keeps your sugars from spiking ( and then you binge eating)
3.Do some research on weight loss.. there are tons of stuff that can affect your ability to lose weight...such as taking benedryl for allergies... yep good ole benedryl will sabotage your diet. ( and also affects high blood pressure..loradine on the other hand doesn't affect any of this and is just as good)
4. Look up the GI ( glycemic) index online.. it is a chart for diabetics.. it basically tells you what type of foods contain sugars that most like won't be used by the body and will remain as fat...the lower the number ( meat/green leafy vegs) the more it will be used for energy.. the higher on the chart ( carrots/root veggies/potatoes).. the more likely it will be used for fat storage.

Sorry don't mean to hijack your post..

But you did mention High Blood pressure.. every two years I have to take a physical for my medical card to legally drive a truck. My BP is about 135 normally..a 140 is a fail on the physical. I can go to the doctor and they will prescribe a low level water pill that knocks the score down to like 120.( which is normal)

But there are other things that will immediately influence your BP numbers like caffeine..( stop drinking coffee/sodas)...stop adding salt to your meals ( add a spice instead)( and no I don't recommend that NO salt alternative..it is better to go without than add that.
Another thing they don't mention is how much salt is in processed foods like frozen pizza and OMG soup!!!!..so it's important to read food labels

I got off the soda pop and coffee/fast foods ( full of salt) ( for like a month) and went to the doctors to get back on the water pill ( to pass the physical).. They refused to prescribe me one. They said my BP numbers were too good. Huh? I think I was at like 125/80 something.

So sure losing weight will help your BP.. but there could be other factors influencing your numbers
I really think there is an cause and effect thing going on here.. if you reduce your salt intake/stop eating fast foods etc you are gonna lose weight..but did the weight loss or reduction of salt really help your BP?

Be good

MissAnn,

Thank you for that recipe, i am going to make it, once i found out what Ricotta Cheese in dutch is..?hahaha.
I am a follower of the Paleo lifestyle.... most of the time... that is... that is about eating as our ancestors did, the hunter gatherers, nothing out of a package, all fresh, fat fish, nuts, seeds, not much dairy products, and such things, you can find that on google..

One other thing i do is not eating anymore after 20:00 houres... That is good for your digestion....
Good luck,
rosa
