I met someone from this site who had a leading role in her church and had to keep her "other side" well hidden - providing real internal conflict. And I know someone else who has been disowned by his religious leaders because his marriage ended after he had a gay relationship. I generally feel the world would be a better place without man-made religion, because good people would have a clearer value-based moral code rather than one handed down from less well educated generations who feared the unexplained, invented supreme beings as an explanation, and provided reward/punishment in an imaginary afterlife. However, if you feel the need for some kind of spirituality, then one which does not judge or reject ordinary people for doing ordinary things is at least a sane and humane way of doing it.

PS if you want your blog to show up on this site, you have to add at least one comment of your own first - that will be why no-one has been commenting on yours. Yes, I know, don't blame the messenger!

Well, nobody can accuse you of not being provocative.

Good post.

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 4: 24 KJV

Separating and keeping separate spirit and flesh is key.
God hears only what comes from the heart, the spirit. Whether we are in prison, a church or a closet, God hears, sees and knows our heart.
Nothing else much matters

“Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.”
