Wings....

Given angel's wings,

Where might you fly ?

In what sweet heaven

might you find your love ?

Unwilling to be bound,

Where might you move,

Lost between the Wonder and the Why ?

I sat for a few moments, with my eyes closed and had thoughts of place I might want to go or had been.

Then, I imagined myself, walking through a small village in Southwest Ireland,. Smelling the peet fire smoke from the home fires that many heat the home with and ever a few still cook with. Hearing Gaelic spoken by a few people I pass. Smelling the lanolin off the hand knit wool sweater I am wearing. Wondering out of the town past an old ruin and winding up in a grove of trees Where I sit resting on stones which were a Druid gathering place

Somehow transporting myself to the Moors in Scotland and winding up in a pub in Wales, where I don't understand the discussion of old men about the politics I suspect.

I suppose, those few moments of thought made me realize I should go back and visit Ireland and the UK once more in my lifetime. But it poses a questions, how do I balance that desire against wanting to go to place like Spain, Australia, Peru, Alaska of which I have never visited?

I think that's an easy one..it's a familiar friend to you...the other options would be unfamiliar and new...sometimes we need the comfort of the familiar more than new adventures
