As a standard member I can't send or read emails. You can leave a private message for me here by commenting on this post. I will reply here and it will stay private. Or create your own blog mailbox (instructions below): Alternatively, let me know when you will be on IM.

How to make your own blog mailbox

Members who have a Standard membership may not have access to email. They may be able to receive and read email but not send it. There is a way around this, which is what you find right here: a blog entry that serves as a mailbox (also known as a "blog mailbox" "private mailbox" or "virtual mailbox").

To set up a blog mailbox, go to the "My blog" tab of your profile, and then on the blog page look for "Add a" and click "Post". Say whatever you want to say to encourage people to contact you through this blog mailbox, and then it is critical to set the following two choices:

Sticky Post: Top
I want to pre-review: all responses before they show up

Setting the post to be the top "sticky post" means your blog mailbox will always show up as the first post on your blog, keeping it easy for everyone to find.

The way you keep the blog mailbox private is to set the pre-review to "all responses before they show up" and then never "approve" a post. That way they stay hidden to everyone but you and the account-holder who wrote the message.

Finally, if someone messages you, use the "respond" button, not the "quote" button. If you use the latter both the reply and the original comment will become public

A number of people - either friends or watched blogs - have recently disappeared from my version of Alt. For example Princess Tinks (stupidly can't recall her exact screen name!) is now no longer a friend, has fallen off the list of watched blogs, and seems to have disappeared from the site without a trace. Is this just me or are other people having the same experience?

Does anybody know how to block unwanted blog posts - ie most of them - so they don't show up in your feed? Apologies to those who are still taking the trouble to post single posts that are relevant to alt.

Sorry, a question rather than a blog.

I am sure the luckier ones amongst you have tried these; the idea is to have something small, quiet and discrete that can be controlled (by me!) on an evening out, for some gentle teasing foreplay before coming home to greater pleasures. The problem is, I can't really tell from Amazon reviews which ones are quiet and discrete enough for this purpose. Anyone got any recommendations (ideally on the Amazon UK site or similar)?

So, I have not posted on here for a while, or even been on the site much. Of course I have seen other people come (so to speak) and go, and often wondered what happened. I guess I feel I owe it to the small number of people who I've had the odd meaningful conversation with - and the larger number of people whose blogs I have enjoyed - to not go without saying goodbye and giving an explanation.

I originally joined in the hope of meeting someone local, interested in bdsm, and with enough in common with to have a "proper" relationship. I met a few, always nice people, but never with that "spark". There simply are not enough local women on this site for a man to realistically use it as a dating site. In the meantime I dated "vanilla" women, and have had some very positive experiences and good relationships, though never quite good enough to last forever; it has been interesting to discover that basic bdsm appears to be the new vanilla, at least at my age when the shackles of cultural inhibitions and rearing are released.

And now, finally, it has happened; I have a partner who is not just actually perfect in all vanilla respects, but (though from a "normal" website) also craves the kind of sexual experience we all want here. We are a perfect fit, I am head over heels and loving every moment of it.

So, two things. First to say adieu to you - you know who you are. And second, and perhaps most importantly; don't give up. It is a cliché but you never know when good fortune will strike.

Good luck to everyone.

No big deal but help please?

So, someone new came up local to me, her free profile edit looked interesting, and I spent a few points becoming a fan so I could view her full profile. Turns out she is "not looking" so, no problem, all good.

Except she messaged me - I can't read it of course, but it starts "Pl".

I spend a few points trying to reply but the site comes up with "You do not have permission to message this user" so I assume I am blocked.

I hate her to think I am some kind of stalker so is there a full member prepared to explain to her? Perhaps just by sending a cut and paste of this note?

If so please PM me via my private blog post and I will give you her name.

It's not a big deal. But I suppose I am slightly aggrieved that an innocent action might have been misconstrued.

Another dimension to the pubic hair debate...

Source; BBC website today

"Women and men who regularly trim or remove all their pubic hair run a greater risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) than those who do not, research suggests.
Doctors say small tears in the skin from shaving or trimming could make it easier for infections to take hold.
But they also say groomers - particularly extreme ones - tend to be more sexually active too.
STIs are passed on through unprotected sex or genital contact.
The findings come from a survey of more than 7,500 American adults, published in Sexually Transmitted Infections - a specialist BMJ journal.
The report, led by doctors from the University of California, San Francisco, said the two most likely explanations for the link between grooming and STIs were micro-tears in the skin, which increased the risk of viral STIs, and groomers being more likely to engage in risky sexual behaviour with more sexual partners".

On the positive side, less chance of pubic lice!

Why you shouldn't date Usain Bolt

No, not because it will be over in less than 10 seconds, which is what you thought I was going to say.

According to an interview in today's UK Guardian (google it if you like)

"Another cultural norm has always mystified me. In Jamaica, cunnilingus is an unthinkable taboo, riotously ridiculed in dancehall lyrics and mocked by men who boast, “Mi nah bow down” (I don’t go down). Bolt has been interviewed so many times, he must be bored to death by the same old questions, so I try one I doubt he’ll have been asked before. Does he take a more international view on this matter, or is he a traditional “Mi nah bow down” Jamaican?
His eyes widen. He starts, laughs, and exclaims, “That’s what we all say! I’m like, ‘Yo, that’s just how we’re brought up.’ After time, you get into the world, and you understand that it’s a choice. If you want to do it, it’s your choice. I know a lot of my friends do it.” He grins and shakes his head. “But not me.”"

One or two of you might regard his physique as being adequate compensation I suppose!

A math(s) question

A maths question for you. If the FBI can vet 650,000 emails in 8 days, how many unwilling pussies can Donald Trump grope in 4 years? Assuming he spends a bit of time doing boring presidential stuff like politics and economics?
