Scary Tales - "Countess R. H. von Bludd"

This post is dedicated to Kathryn! Before recently meeting
her and becoming a fan of her blog "Musings from a Muse"
LoverOfGaiaSub, I was not going to post this nor
resume posting at all. Thank you for sparking renewed interest
in doing so, dear Kathryn! You truly are a most lovely muse!

| There's a story to be told about a long forgotten memory
of mine that I now believe was the catalyst for my lifelong
enamorment of redheads and vampire women. Either that
or it was the pinnacle moment when I first realized these
were the kinds of ladies I find most attractive deep down
in my soul. Either-or, it's likely that this is the
point in my life were "it" all started.

| So the story goes...

| I'm rummaging through a box of $1 old tattered comics
books at a shop, flipping through the covers like a flip-book
animation film - as I normally do - and (as happens) something
catches my eye. I go back to it the comic (photo above) but
it's not the title, the full cover, the characters,
or the artistic style that my eye zeroes in on - as typically
happens. Instead, it is this little circular image of a
blonde woman's portrait in the corner.

| It was one of those moments of recognizing something but
at the same time - not. Something was subconsciously familiar
and attractive about this little blonde portrait, but
my rational mind immediately told me there's no reason
why it should catch my eye. I'd never seen it before,
I don't know who she is, and she's blonde - which
typically does not catch my eye.

| No offence to blondes! ...but in my hair color fetish, blondes
rank the lowest. That's not to say I don't find
some blondes to be more attractive than even a redhead (highest
on the scale) but it's rare - usually attributed to
said blonde having other attributes high on my other attraction
scales. ...which is what I rationalized as having caught
my eye about this blonde. For example, the powder white
skin, which is highest on my skin color fetish scale; or
the long flowing hair style – also highest on my fetish
scale. ...or maybe it was just the bright red-yellow contrast
that caught my eye like a traffic light. (That's just
being "human"; not a fetish scale of mine. *ha*)

| Looking more at the little corner image, I considered the
drawing style. Maybe I recognized the artist? It was similar
to some of my favorites but there was too little drawn to
determine if it was one of them. However, what was there
matched very closely with artists I pursue. Their style
is unique and brings about real sensual feelings for me.
What I'm most amazed of regarding this style is that
there's no realism; they use nothing but simple lines
and curves from a pen. However, their selection of where
to put those lines, the thickness of them, the angles and
curves, and most importantly - where to leave them out -
that matches with what my minds-eye sees as being sensual.
...the most beautiful of women! This magical feeling comes
to me via the reality that there is hardly any drawing there
at all, in some cases - no lines at all. It's that contradiction
that I find fascinating and creates the magic for me –
creates passionate desires in me.

| Considering the little corner image more, she's also
drawn a little like the features of women I am most attracted
to – vampire'y witchy evil'esque women of the
Hammer films-quality stature and beauty. Although the
corner image doesn't reveal any of this aside from
the basic structure of her face, and her long flowing hair,
the comic itself is of the genre and era of Hammer films.

| Considering the comic as a whole, I was positive I had never
seen the cover; it was unique enough that I would have surely
recognized something about it. I wasn't familiar
at all with the title, so I doubted I had read and liked other
issues of the same series. I flipped through the pages to
see if any of the artwork or stories would make me realize
I had a reason for being pulled to this - but nothing. The
last thing I concluded was the theme and title of the comic
were along my main interest of the '60s/'70s horror
genre so that could have something to do with it.

| Rather than continuing to dwell on it, I took a photo of the
comic so I could research it more at home. I felt so positively
there wasn't any real connection to it that I wasn't
even willing to pay a measly $1 and take it with me. I figured
I'd only discover there was no connection, so why have
it only to throw it back to a thrift store in a day or two.

| I get home and do the obvious Google image search for the
title. Right off the bat, I see a character I instantly know
I know. ...and the forgotten memory begins to surface quickly!

| My kind of sexy!! Pure "Hammer" films! ...and
notice the upper left corner! It's the blonde from
the comic, but I remember her as a redhead! That's why
the portrait caught my eye, and yet I didn't recognize
her! Whoever this redheaded is, she certainly stayed in
my mind – even disguised as a blonde in a minuscule image
flashing past me in a microsecond of film-frames! This
is what now completely amazes me about the whole situation!

| So now I recognize the character but still can't remember
exactly who she was. Another simple Google search and I
find she's "Countess R. H. von Bludd",
which I then also search for. ...and there's this whole
series of images I immediately remember vividly, not the
least of which being the very first one - the Countess moving
in to bite a man on his neck.

| And that was it! The marvelous memories all came back to
me about when I was 7 or 8 years old, and my grandmother's
house having among all the toys and books and 's
things – a comic book with Countess von Bludd in it. ...and
how I'd read it and would "feel something"
each time I came to those panels with her, especially that
one of her coming up from behind the man and lowering her
head into his neck. I would be aroused at the thought of that
happening to me, feeling her lean into my neck from behind
and placing her lips on my skin. ...and that long beautiful
red hair brushing up against my face. (I'm getting
an erection just thinking about it now! *Ha!*)

| But I didn't have the comic for long as a - discarded
as old toys are – so I had long forgotten about Countess
von Bludd; not even a vague recollection now or then. I suspect
she became overcome by my next crush - Vampirella - of whom
there was so much more media available to pour myself over
while going through puberty. *winks*

| Consider too the close similarities between Countess
von Bludd and Vampirella. Both are vampires with powder
white skin, long flowing hair, fierce sharp eyes with long
lashes, and attire with deep plunging necklines that reveal
curves along their ample breasts going well past the cleavage;
drawing the eye down to meet in a Yin/Yang with the rising
French cut bottom extenuating their long white legs. *fans~himself!*

| Also considering these two beauties; Vampirella, even
today, has tens-of-thousands of images. Compare that
to Countess von Bludd - who has literally only a few dozen
- and it's no wonder to me why my young self forgot completely
about her in lieu of Vampirella. ;(

| However, the Countess obviously made such a tremendous
impression in my mind! How else then would that little blonde
portrait flashing for a mere fraction of a second among
so many other images in the box of $1 comic books 40 year later
still catch my eye? That's simply amazing to me!!

| I also now realize that Countess R. H. Von Bludd was my second
ever "crush"! (My first was the assistant teacher
in my kindergarten class with the long-long-long brown
flowing hair and face like a young Susan Dey. .I'll
never forget her! ..but that's a story for another
time. *teehee!*) It was a very short encounter with the
Countess during my life, and as a I didn't understand
the feelings I had for her - then I forgot her entirely. Having
fate now remind me of her as an adult, I'm greatly enjoying
the memories, realizing she was/is a model for my "ideal"
regarding beauty, and I'm also able to recognize what
my feeling were for her back then - hypnotic lustful enamorment!
...exactly what a vampiress does to her victims before
taking them! *R'rawr!* v~V

| Since this realization, I've scourged the internet
for her and realize that she didn't appear but a few
dozen time, as I said. How sad! She has such a sexy look that
she could still compete in today's market! But that
also means she's unknown to the masses, and my own little
private gem I can claim to myself! ...and now you can too!
*winks*

| Also fun for me, I realize the Countess likely contributed
to something I've often said during my life... "I
don't know who she is, but the most beautiful woman
in the world is definitely a redhead."

| The two comics I had as a were "Ghostly Tales"
issue #1 which has her origin story - beautifully drawn!
...and the story with the Countess biting the man on the
neck is in the series "Monster Hunters", also
issue #1.

| Fortunately, all of these are available for FREE at GetComics-dot-com.
I do so hope you'll go there to get your own copies and
see her for yourself! ...but it not, that's fine –
she's all mine!! *grins*

| In closing, here are a few more images to share in tribute
to Countess R. H. Von Bludd – my long lost love!

| Thanks for reading my story! *smiles!*
