The Healers Glade

After the loss of his beloved Michelle, Merlin's visits to the glade became fewer and fewer. When he did come, he noticed that a new and sinister miasma was slowly overcoming the surrounding forest. Talking animals became hard to find and the howling sounds of distant wolves on the prowl became common place. When Merlin attempted to make the journey to the glade after sunset he found that the shadows of the forest had come to life in the form of insidious beasts and monsters, whose gleaming eyes watched from the darkness and spoke of insatiable hunger. Despite the now perilous nature of his ventures to the glade, he was still able to reclaim a sense of peace once safely past the circle of stones. Merlin's trips, while now less frequent, did not entirely stop and he would still come to the cottage to contemplate, relax on the fur-covered furniture, gaze into the dancing flames beneath the mantel and pine for his long lost Michelle. That all changed when SHE showed up, a new and unstoppable force in his life, a usurper and dominatrix. Now Merlin finds himself subjugated in the realm where he'd formerly had dominion.
