"Look," by itself is an intransitive verb (in many linguistic contexts, anyway). When it is paired with the preposition "for," it creates a "phrasal verb." The phrasal verb "look for" is transitive (i.e., it requires an object). It's also informal.
But "seek" is transitive and, right off the bat, is just a more formal way of saying "ask for," "look for," "search for," and so on.
It's beyond me why so many profiles now sport the construction "seek for" or "seeking for."
Presumably, some of these are written by non-native English speakers.
Everyone else just appears to be sliding into a barbarism.
