After being on the fringes of the kink community for several years as well as having had some very illuminating d/s defined relationships, I've come to the conclusion that I've what amounts to a kink for privacy. I'm probably not as kinky as you are...I'm not poly, bisexual, an exhibitionist nor a switch. I don't play in public and I am monogamous in both sex and play. Nor do I separate play and sex; both are reserved exclusively for romantic relationships. I was once asked, "Do you want a dominant or a boyfriend?". My answer was, "Yes.". Basically, I prefer to date in a more traditional sense while keeping the desire for a long term, d/s defined relationship in mind. Comparatively speaking, I may be almost "vanilla". I'm cool with that. If you aren't, I'm cool with that, too.
I'm not here for hook-ups or playdates nor am I actively looking for anything or anyone else on ALT; I've gone that route and while both of the relationships I found through ALT were excellent learning experiences, I found that it is likely not the route for me. I'm cranky, skeptical, opinionated, not enamored of the "lifestyle" one whit, sarcastic, and often vaguely (and not so vaguely) hostile when personal boundaries are crossed without consent. I'm as fond of a good laugh and interesting conversation as I am allergic to the aforementioned bullshit, hooey, malarkey, and tomfoolery. Still just sayin'.
