The world of film and fashion parades an endless stream of prime, beautiful bodies before us -- and if they're not perfect, they can be doctored. It's almost enough to make you want a little vacation from predictable bodies beautiful. Well, the makers of the underground art-porn short film entitled, The Operation, did just that -- and added a whole new meaning to the word "doctored" while they were at it.

In a vague setting, like some X Files lab or underground bunker, a doctor in white hazmat suit and protective headgear begins to examine an unconscious patient. As the patient's exposed penis draws the doctor's attention, the inspection grows less doctorly and more intimate. Before you know it, the doctor is performing fellatio on the patient, who, unexpectedly, wakes up. The sexual exploration that follows becomes the substance of The Operation.

What makes this 15-minute film truly special is how it’s shot -- entirely in infrared video. The camera actually detects/records heat (as opposed to mere light like your garden variety camera). Such a costly and jealously guarded camera is normally used in heavy industry to check for cracks and flaws in metal pipes. But director Jacob Pander talked an industrial company into loaning the special camera to his little film group for a few days. Little did they know what intense sex acts Pander (under his actor's nom de guerre of Otto Wrek) and lovely fetish model Gina Velour would be doing under the camera's eye. As to the sex itself… well in 15 minutes, there's no time to run through of the Kama Sutra, but when Pander's camera captures flesh in the throes of sexual ecstasy, the result is breathtaking. Even without tricky gymnastics. You’ve never seen bodies like this before. The couple seems to be made of electricity and light. And their bodies change all the time, as parts of their skin heats and cools off. At one point, Otto Wrek has his hand on Gina Velour’s breast. When he moves, the outline of his hand remains in her skin, a tiny temperature variant that becomes a prefect emblem of the couple’s passion.

Don’t think that, just because the film makers approached their sex film with an artful eye, the sex is tame. The couple fucks with the confidence and abandon of people who’ve been there many times before. For completists, there are even money shots, both for the “doctor” and “patient.” When Wrek’s cock erupts near Velour’s cheek, his cock and semen are white hot against her cooler face. It’s like watching the Terminator 2 Mercury Man starring in his very own porn movie.

In a lighter, though no less sexy, vein is director Jacob Pander’s second erotic film, Suck It & See. It’s a companion piece to the album of the same name by British DJ, Howie B. Howie got a bunch of friends to create 70s-style music to a non-existent porn movie. The results were so good that the record company decided to create the porn movie to go with the music. After seeing The Operation, they hired Pander to do the filming. Suck It & See is a slick softcore romp with great music, gorgeous bodies and fun scenarios.

Plus, Pander manages to sneak in a short scene with the infrared videocam. Suck It & See’s softcore scenarios are more sexy than sex-filled, so you can even play the movie in the background at a party without offending your non-porn friends.
